Jean-Yves Bourbeau grew up in Canada, in the Center of Québec region of Drummonville. From an early age, Jean-Yves follows in the footsteps of his father, a cabinetmaker, a professional sculptor, and an exotic woods enthusiast: "I have always loved working with wood and creating a product with my own hands". It was only a matter of time before he made a knife.
Indeed, driven by his two passions, firearms and martial arts, Jean-Yves studied metallurgy and mechanical design. He made his very first knife when studying metallurgy courses. Today, as he holds a black belt in karate, he distinguishes himself in the knowledge of knives across cultures.
All his creations are drawn from his true passion for the profession. In 1996, at the Atlanta Blade Show, his expertise was awarded with the "Best Handle Design" prize. This award has enabled him to rank among the internationally renowned cutlers.
Today, Jean-Yves starts a new adventure again, this time in France, and is accompanied by his wife, Nathalie Bourbeau, who assists him in the creation and realization of the knives as well as in all administrative and management tasks. It is in the Toulouse area that they've chosen to settle, specifically in Grenade-sur-Garonne.
